Police: 2 Glendale Heights men robbed carload of people

Police say two Glendale Heights men pointed guns at three people inside a car at an apartment complex Saturday night, before punching two of them and taking their wallets and phones.

Three people were sitting in a car at about 10 p.m. in the Stratford Trails Apartment Complex on the 100 block of Gladstone Drive when two men approached their car and pointed semiautomatic handguns at them, police said in a news release. One of the men entered the car and punched two of the victims, according to police.

The victims handed over their wallets and cellphones and the offenders fled on foot, police said.

Police said they located the men a short time later and recovered the handguns, which were actually a pellet gun and a BB gun.

Julio Solache-Ramirez, 21, of the 100 block of Gladstone Drive, was charged with one count of aggravated robbery and two counts of battery. Saul Lechuga, 18, 1200 block of Prairie Avenue, was charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

Both were taken to DuPage County jail. Both were given a bond of $15,000, the full bond amount required, police said.
