Story idea: Max out teacher pension

"When you should take Social Security"(Daily Herald, Section 3 Page 3, Feb. 22). These articles and headlines are in the newspaper and in magazines weekly in order to help those thinking about retiring "cheat" the system by having a "financial strategy."

Seniors read these articles attempting to find the most lucrative ways to essentially collect money in their Golden Years from Social Security.

"Get What's Yours: The Secrets to Maxing Out Your Social Security" (Daily Herald, Feb. 22). Can you imagine an article written for Teachers Retirement participants, in order to help us find the best ways to retire in order to gain the most from our retirement dollars? No, neither can I.

All I read is dribble written by people who are attempting to take my only pension. Yes, my only pension. I do not get Social Security. I have never paid into it except for the two summers at Kiddieland.

I began my career when I was 21 years old and have paid into teacher's retirement for 28 years.

Let's see a thoughtful article entitled, "Get What's Yours: The Secrets to Maxing Out Your Teachers' Retirement Pension."
