New businesses coming to Yorktown Center

Several new businesses are scheduled to open this spring at Yorktown Center in Lombard, officials say.

Yorktown General Manager Todd Hiepler said one of the biggest developments is the opening of BZ's Twisted American Cuisine, which will be filling a spot that has been vacant since the closing of Ed Debevic's.

"We expect them to be open very late spring or early summer," Hiepler said, adding that the company is new to the Chicago market.

The restaurant will flank what officials say is the main entrance on the south side of the mall, along with the long-standing Egg Harbor Cafe.

"It's a really eclectic menu," Hiepler said of BZ's, which will offer a variety of craft beer and macro and micro brews, along with specialty drinks and wines.

Earlier this month, another restaurant, Armand's Victory Tap, opened at 346 Yorktown Center, in The Shops on Butterfield.

"They're just doing dinner (now), but they plan on doing lunch in the next couple weeks," Hiepler said of the restaurant, which offers pizza and other Italian dishes, such as baked clams, stuffed artichoke and antipasto salad.

Shops on Butterfield will also be home to a new AT&T Wireless store, which is expected to open by April next to Tom & Eddie's.

Two new boutiques - Francesca's Collections and 25 Silver Boutique - are additions to the selection of women's stores inside the shopping center.

Francesca's opened Friday on the second level, next to the Gap. The store offers a hand-picked mix of eclectic clothing and accessories. Officials say new arrivals come in almost daily.

25 Silver Boutique will fill a space on the second floor that has been vacant since Love From Chicago closed in January. Featured brands that will be available at the store include Vera Bradley, Alex and Ani, Fossil and Harveys. Hiepler said the company also is new to the Chicago market.

In the shopping center's renovated food court, The Eatery, a new restaurant called Salseria will be coming soon. The restaurant has several other locations in the Chicago market and will offer authentic grilled Mexican meats, seafood and poultry, along with hand-squeezed margaritas and homemade sangria.

By offering Mexican food, Salseria will fill a niche that currently isn't offered at Yorktown, Hiepler said. He said more developments are in the works and will be revealed by early summer.

"Visitors and shoppers will see a continuation of the improvements we were making in 2014," he said.
