Girl Scouts to host Winter Camp for girls March 7-8

There's nothing like gathering around a blazing campfire with your closest friends during a chilly winter's eve - the sky above you lit only by the moon and stars. Girls love to camp year-round, so Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois recently created a winter camping program especially for girls in fourth to 12th grades!

"Winter Wonderland in the Woods" will be held from 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, to noon Sunday, March 8, at the Girl Scout Camp Dean, 46W253 Camp Dean Road in Big Rock.

Girls will explore camp in the wintertime and sleep in the heated lodge. Winter escapades will include cross country skiing and sledding. Even if there's no snow, the camp has a variety of things to do in any kind of weather!

Cost is $25 per registered Girl Scout; $15 per registered Girl Scout adult or $40 per nonregistered girl; $30 per nonregistered adult.

The additional $15 fee registers participants as Girl Scouts and allows participation in Girl Scout programs all year long!

Fee includes all activities, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, and a snack. Registration ends Tuesday, March 3. To register, contact Felecia at (630) 897-1565, ext. 7161, or fdupczak@girlscoutsni.org.
