Officials from the Palatine Fire Department fought a van fire on Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Rand Road and West Frontage Road.

Palatine firefighters responded around 1:25 p.m. on Thursday, said Battalion Chief Jim Conn.

The van was destroyed by the fire, but the nearby convenience food store did not sustain any damage.

No one was injured in the fire.

Conn said the fire did not look to be malicious so the department would not be investigating it further.
