Fremont students raise $30,700 during jump rope fundraiser

Students at Fremont Intermediate School in Mundelein recently raised $30,700 for the American Heart Association in a Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.

The amount they raised, which is about $5,000 above last year's amount, has ranked them number one in the Chicago area for online fundraising for AHA.

The school's top three fundraisers were fifth-grader Jordan Schneckloth, who raised $1,020; fourth-grader Mathias Zipfel, who raised $1,000; and third-grader Emily Carlson, who raised $849.

Jump Rope For Heart is a national fundraising event sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

These events engage students with jumping rope while empowering them to improve their own health and help other students with heart-health issues.
