Bandits bring back DePaul star Verdun
Pitcher/first baseman Kirsten Verdun will return for a second season with the Chicago Bandits, team officials announced Thursday.
The former DePaul star will fill multiple roles in 2015 at pitcher, designated player and at first base. As a rookie last season, Verdun pitched 25 innings, allowing just 17 runs. At the plate, Verdun recorded a .333 batting average with 5 RBI.
“Kirsten is a player that we had a chance to watch many times during her career at DePaul and one thing that always stood out, besides her impressive numbers, was her competitiveness,” Chicago Bandits general manager Aaron M. Moore said in announcing that the team has agreed to terms with Moore. “That is something that she brought to the Bandits as well .
“She will have opportunities to make an impact in our lineup and we're confident she will deliver.”
