Believe Project: $100 to help students who lost home in fire

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Mary Kate Brooks of St. Charles.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"I teach middle school physical education in Norridge. Recently three students at John V. Leigh school (in a family of eight) lost their home in a fire. They were left with very little, one of them came to PE without his uniform and the school donated one for him. It is hard to imagine all they have suffered, but they are amazing and resilient students. With the $100 from the Believe Project, I would make a large donation to the family to aid in their recovery."

• The Believe Project mails a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else.
