Police release photos, video from Fox Lake bank robbery

Authorities have released photos of a Fox Lake bank robbery suspect and a video showing what may be the van used in the escape.

Fox Lake Police Lt. Mark Schindler said the unidentified man walked into the PNC Bank at 66 E. Grand Ave. about 1:47 p.m. Tuesday and demanded money from a teller.

The white male, presumed to be between 30 and 40 years old, was wearing a blue hoodie and white sneakers, and partially covered his face with a white surgical mask, authorities said.

The man implied he had a weapon but didn't show one, Schindler said. He left the bank after taking an undisclosed amount of money.

Schindler said witnesses outside the bank told police the suspect took off in a red van, which was parked at a nearby business out of sight.

Police have released a copy of a video of the suspected van driving through Fox Lake Town Center near the bank shortly after the robbery.

Schindler said Fox Lake Police and the FBI are investigating the robbery. Anyone with information should contact the Fox Lake Police Department at (847) 587-3100.
