Let's stick with what works in Dist. 214

The April 7th ballot for District 214 will list three familiar names, William (Bill) Dussling, Alva J. Kreutzer and F. Daniel Petro.

Bill has been on the board for 17 years and is currently board president. He is a recipient of the National School Boards Association's Award for Distinguished Service to Public Education, an honor given to 1 percent of the nation's 95,000 school board members. Bill has also received the District 214 Arts Unlimited Friend of the Arts Award in recognition of his support of student Fine Arts programs.

Alva Kreutzer has been a board member for 16 years, and had previously served on the District 59 board in Elk Grove Township. She was the PTO president of Admiral Byrd and Grove Junior High in Elk Grove Village and has received recognition for her volunteer work from the Kenneth W. Young Center, OMNI Youth Center and Elk Grove Village.

Dan Petro has been a board member for four years. He served on the District 25 board for 12 years and was president there for eight. He has served as a board member of the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization and is currently vice president of the District 214 board.

These three public servants are rightfully proud of the fiscal accountability and educational excellence maintained by the District 214 during their tenure. There has been no tax referendum in over 40 years and the operating budget has been balanced for 18 straight years. The district has the highest financial rating given by the Illinois State Board of Education.

These three candidates firmly believe that providing our children with a superior education for a lifetime is an absolute necessity for the community and the country. They are committed to the district and serve it well.

Please join me in voting for them on April 7.
