College Scholarship Money Available for Seniors at Warren Township High School

Alice Brewer was a lifelong resident of Lake County and a graduate of Warren Township High School. She believed that the education provided by Warren Township High School made a significant impact on her life. Upon her death, Ms. Brewer left most of her estate to help other graduates of Warren Township High School have the opportunity to excel in a university setting. The Alice Brewer Memorial Scholarship annually provides scholarships to several graduating seniors of Warren Township High School. Since 2007, The Alice Brewer Memorial Scholarship has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships to graduates of Warren Township High School. Although the scholarship is not limited to a specific area of study, preference is given to students who intend to study agriculture or in an agriculture-related field.

All seniors at Warren Township High School who will attend college in the 2015-2016 academic year are encouraged to apply now! To apply, a student must submit an application (available at the WTHS Guidance Office), a 7th semester transcript from WTHS (also available at the Guidance Office), and a brief statement from the applicant explaining what he or she desires to achieve by attending college, as well as any special circumstances that the applicant believes are important for the Trustee to know. In addition, each applicant may have a brief interview with the scholarship Trustee. These documents must be completed and submitted to the Guidance Office of Warren Township High School by March 20, 2015.
