District 54 hires two new principals

Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 appointed two new principals this week for the 2015-16 school year. Ivette Rivera-Weigle, the current assistant principal at Campanelli and Dooley elementary schools, will become principal of the MacArthur International Spanish Academy in Hoffman Estates. Amy Christie will become principal of Campanelli Elementary School in Schaumburg. She is currently in her third year as a principal in Palos Heights. Rivera-Weigle succeeds Danette Meyer, who will become District 54's assistant superintendent for language and culture on July 1. Christie is replacing Cyndie Gordon, who will become a special education director for the district.
