Group works to help veterans return to civilian life

Michael Woods, a 13-year Navy veteran and president of the nonprofit organization, A Warriors Mind, was a guest speaker at the Algonquin Rotary Club meeting Feb. 11.

His presentation was passionate and eloquent as he shared this organization's mission to reconnect and rebuild the veteran community as they return to civilian life.

The first Meet-Up and fundraiser for A Warriors Mind is planned for 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Thirsty Whale Bar & Grill, 1700 S. Randall Road in Algonquin. "Operation Rally Point" will feature Bomber Betty Girls, giveaways, massages from Fox River Spa, discounts from local shops and more.

Help support this organization and enjoy an evening of fellowship with our country's finest men and women. For information, visit www.awarriorsmind.com.
