Apply now to join St. Patrick's Day Parade in St. Charles

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership has extended the parade entry deadline to Wednesday, Feb. 25, due to increasing interest. The St. Patrick's Parade takes place on Main Street from Sixth Street to Fourth Avenue beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14.

They are accepting entries from businesses, politicians, and nonprofit organizations. Organizations and businesses that wish to participate must complete an entry form, obtain a certificate of insurance, sign off on the rules and regulations, and return the documents along with the appropriate entrance fee, if required, to the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office no later than the extended deadline of Wednesday, Feb. 25. The fee is $250 for business and political entries, $125 for partnership business members, and no charge for nonprofit entries. Documents are available on the event webpage at www.downtownstcharles.org/stpats.

This year's parade will feature Irish dancers, authentic Irish music, school groups, bands, preschools, service clubs, and an array of floats. The event will draw up to 10,000 people from around the area to watch and participate in the parade. In addition to the parade, the St. Charles Veterinary Clinic is sponsoring a "Deck Out Your Lucky Dog" contest, and decorated dogs will be invited to walk in the parade. Additionally, the Arcada Theatre will host a dance show that features area dance troupes beginning at 10 a.m.
