Feb. 27: Ceramics exhibit opens at CLC's Artcetera Gallery

A new ceramics exhibit called "Serviceability" will open in the Artcetera Gallery at the College of Lake County on Feb. 27 and run through April 10. The exhibit kicks off with a reception on Feb. 27 from 7-9 p.m. in the gallery, which coincides with the opening reception for the exhibit "Deanna Krueger: Shimmer" in CLC's Robert T. Wright Gallery of Art.

Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. The opening night reception will include refreshments and musical entertainment by Anderson Nordmark Duo, acoustic guitar. A cash bar will be available.

Ben Bates, curator of the exhibit and CLC ceramics instructor, has invited 39 ceramic artists from around the U.S. to showcase a diverse collection of beautiful hand-made objects that also function as serving vessels. An online catalog will be on the Artcetera Gallery Blog for phone orders starting March 2 at www.artceteragallery.blogspot.com.

Artcetera Gallery is open Monday through Wednesday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call (847) 543-2405 or email gburger
