No injuries in Addison condo fire

No one was injured in an early morning condominium fire Thursday on the 300 block of Fullerton Avenue in Addison.

Addison Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Chuck Baxa said an alarm alerted the department at 5:23 a.m. to the blaze in the first floor condominium.

The fire was contained to a bedroom, Baxa said. The condo resident was not home when the fire alarm sounded.

He said about 30 people were evacuated while firefighters extinguished the blaze.

"A lot of them sat in their cars or in police cars while we contained the fire," he said. "After the fire was out, we let them into a common area to stay warm."
