Gay bias same as racial bias

May I add a footnote to Ilish Talarico's excellent letter supporting gay rights? Prior to 50 years ago, blacks were told to respect the beliefs of those who do not agree with their right to be equal in society and to politely accept a low place in the system of segregation and discrimination.

Most now agree that was wrong, as do our current laws, but it was the way of our country under the flag of Christianity for more than 300 years. Judges and business owners have had to change their practices since the '60s as the laws changed in that regard as they will need to for new changes in laws giving equal rights to gay people.

Discrimination against gay couples and people is of the same kind of thinking as the Jim Crow laws.
