Take a trip around the world at the 4-H International Festival

The public is invited to come out and experience 4-H Clubs as they exhibit different countries from around the world during an International Festival from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Lake County Fair Grounds, 1060 E. Peterson Road, Grayslake. Admission is one canned good to be donated to a local food pantry.

As guests enter, they will be given "passports" that they can take to the different booths. At each booth, guests will be given an opportunity to earn stamps for their passports, play games, make crafts, hear stories, see costumes and artifacts and learn from the 4-H members about the country they studied.

As guests finish their tours, they can turn their passports in for prizes.

A silent auction will be held, which will include baskets that symbolize the various countries. A second silent auction will include international gifts for youth. Proceeds from the evening will go to the University of Illinois Extension Office to assist with 4-H programming.

Illinois 4-H strives to help youth learn skills for living. University of Illinois Extension provides 4-H programs in every county in Illinois. Illinois 4-H aims to impact the lives of 200,000 youth each year through sustained learning clubs and groups and short-term programming.
