District 54 names two assistant superintendents

The Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 school board appointed two new assistant superintendents Thursday to fill positions becoming vacant this summer.

Cassie Williams, the district's current executive director of special education, will become assistant superintendent for student and administrative services on July 1.

Danette Meyer, who's been principal of District 54's MacArthur International Spanish Academy in Hoffman Estates since 2008, will become assistant superintendent for language and culture.

Their promotions will create new vacancies expected to be filled by appointments before the end of the current school year.
