New Executive Director for Glen Ellyn Historical Society

Taking over the position of Executive Director of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society, Karen Hall arrived on Monday, January 5 and settled into her new responsibilities. Hall traveled to Glen Ellyn from Lafayette, Indiana where she was the Executive Director of the Montgomery County Cultural Foundation. Among her responsibilities in her former position, were grant writing, program development, facility and staff management, as well as the day to day operations of an organization similar to the Glen Ellyn Historical Society.

A unique addition in the "collection" of the Cultural Foundation's buildings is a Rotary Jail Museum which Hall describes as a distinctive architectural design from the 1880's.

Along with her museum experience, Hall has been the Director of the Women's Resource Office at Purdue University, the Women's Center at Miami University in Ohio, held positions at Antioch College and Michigan State University.

The Historical Society Executive Board has confidence that Hall's management experience will be a great asset to the GEHS and her love for history convinced them that she was a great candidate for the Executive Director's responsibilities. She is excited about meeting the members of the GEHS and getting acquainted with the Village and Village residents of Glen Ellyn.
