Wisconsin man gets 16 years in heroin case
RACINE, Wis. - A Racine County man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for conducting heroin sales with their small children present.
WITI-TV reports 33-year-old Blair LaRose of Salem was also sentenced Monday to nine years of extended supervision after pleading guilty or no contest in October to charges of selling heroin and second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
The Racine County sheriff's office says LaRose and his children's mother sold heroin to undercover officers three times. The suspects had the children, ages 1 and 3, with them on two of those occasions. Authorities say the couple offered to leave one child as collateral to ensure their return with more drugs.
The 26-year-old woman is also charged in the case. The children were placed in the protective custody of Kenosha Human Services.
