Maine Township receives three awards

Maine Township recently received awards from the annual conference of Township Officials of Illinois. Mary Swanson, director of the MaineStreamers senior program, was named Senior Director of the Year by the Illinois Township Association of Senior Centers Services Committee for her work organizing a senior expo, book review program and defensive driving class, among other programs. MaineStay, which provides youth and family services in Maine Township, received the 2014 Youth Organization Award from the Association of Illinois Township Committees on Youth. The program was recognized for its bullying prevention and awareness seminars. MaineStay volunteer Leena Khoury received the 2014 Youth Leadership Award for mentoring 8- to 13-year-olds and incoming Maine West freshmen.
