Halas would slap look off Cutler's face

We've all seen some pretty lousy Bears teams over the past many years, but this one really stinks. This, for a city so rich in sports history, including the founding of the National Football League and all of the Halas history, is inexcusable.

We all thought that after Marc Trestman's first year and all of the talent that surrounds Jay Cutler, that there was real cause for optimism. Boy were we wrong. Trestman is not only in way over his head as an NFL head coach, he wouldn't even make a decent coordinator in the league. We still get the same old predictable offensive plays and lack of effort that we've had to endure for season after season. Maybe the thing that bothers me the most is the way everyone seems to have the same expression on their faces that Marc Trestman has - that of complete bewilderment. Jay Cutler routinely has that head down, mope-around look, no matter if he's on the sidelines, or on the field, usually walking off after another three-and-out.

The Bears should look across town to see what a real sports franchise looks like, take notes about putting together a quality organization that is committed to excellence and winning. What the Blackhawks have done in the past several years, to reorganize, attract great coaching and front office personnel, as well as the players that accept nothing less than perfection, should be a model for all our sports teams. At least every single player on that team plays his guts out for their teammates, the coaching staff, the team, the city and their paychecks. You'll not see Jonathan Toews with that same Jay Cutler look on his face - ever. Toews should slap that look right off Cutler's face - George Halas would.
