Farm animals popular part of living nativity in Palatine

Bethel Lutheran Church in Palatine staged a living nativity on Saturday, complete with animals and with congregants playing the roles of the Holy Family.

"This is our 15th year doing it, and we've had great weather this year," said Jim Atols, a Bethel Lutheran church member and the organizer of Saturday's event. "We bring in live animals from a petting zoo in the DeKalb area. The children love to come up and pet the animals before and after the program."
