Barnes & Noble, Literacy Volunteers team up for holiday book drive

Barnes & Noble Booksellers at Geneva Commons has named Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley the recipient of their holiday book drive. From now to the end of December, Barnes & Noble customers will have an opportunity to donate children's books and games when they check out.

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley will distribute the books to their adult students so they can give them to their children during the holidays.

Volunteer tutors often use this opportunity to help parents read to their children, thus instilling an early love of reading.

Last year, Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley shared books with Lazarus House, Batavia Apartments, The Salvation Army, Elburn Lions Club, local schools, and Illinois Youth Center because of the number of books customers donated.

To learn how you can become a literacy volunteer, visit www.lvfv.org or call Peg Coker at (630) 584-4428.
