Elk Grove-based American Academy of Pediatrics gets federal grant

The American Academy of Pediatrics in Elk Grove Village has received a federal grant to support evidence-based childhood obesity treatment and improve access and systems of care, officials said.

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth announced Friday that the $34,977 Department of Health and Human Services grant was awarded through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

"These grants are vital to improving the health care in our communities and making the 8th District a great place to live, work and raise a family," Duckworth said in a news release.
