Wolves fall 4-1 at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - The Chicago Wolves tried to pull off their third victory in 48 hours, but the Milwaukee Admirals claimed a 4-1 win Sunday in an Amtrak Rivalry game at Bradley Center.

The Wolves, who earned an overtime win Friday at Grand Rapids and defeated Milwaukee 5-1 on Saturday at the Allstate Arena, got a power-play goal from Terry Broadhurst with 1:03 left to avoid the shutout.

Pat Cannone and Jake Chelios set up Broadhurst's first goal in a Wolves uniform. Goaltender Matt Climie rejected 28 shots as the Wolves (5-2-2-0) surrendered a season-high 32 shots.

Milwaukee (7-2-0-0) opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 8:37 of the second period. Viktor Arvidsson faked a slap shot from the left faceoff dot, waited for the defense and Climie to react and slid a pass to Viktor Stalberg waiting backdoor for an easy tap-in.

The Admirals pushed the margin to 2-0 at 10:58 when center Felix Girard collected a rebound just outside of the crease and flicked it into an empty net.

Milwaukee added an insurance goal with 3:56 to go when Stalberg led a 2-on-1 rush, threaded a pass through a Wolves defenseman's legs and banked it off teammate Colton Sissons' left skate into the net.

Broadhurst's goal, which came during a 6-on-4 as the Wolves pulled Climie while on the power play, offered a brief moment of opportunity as it sliced Milwaukee's margin to 3-1.

Milwaukee's Michael Liambas added an empty-net goal with 26 seconds left to provide the final margin.

The Wolves continue their nine-game road trip with a 10 a.m. game Wednesday at Grand Rapids. They return to the Allstate Arena on Nov. 22.
