Countryside fire open house

Countryside Fire Protection District will host its annual pancake breakfast and open house from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 5, at Station 2, 600 N. Deerpath Drive, Vernon Hills. The event kicks off the observance of Fire Protection Week with the theme of "Working Smoke Alarm Saves Lives: Test Yours Every Month." The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $15 per family or $5 per person. The station will be open for tours and to check out the equipment and safety information and exhibits will be displayed throughout.
