MAV Music Leadership Award nominations now open

The McHenry County Music Center recently announced that nominations for the fourth annual Marie Ann Vos Music Leadership Award are now being accepted.

Marie Ann Vos, who passed away earlier this year after a brief illness, was the founder of the music center. This award was created in her name to honor this achievement and more. The center is celebrating its 35th anniversary this season.

The McHenry County Music Center is soliciting candidates for consideration of the award in recognition of life time commitment, achievement and passion in promoting musical arts in the community.

Nomination applications for the MAV Music Leadership Award need to be submitted to the McHenry County Music Center, c/o Cathy Ames, MCMC Executive Director, 401 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake, IL 60014-5605 by Dec. 31, for consideration. There is no formal application form. In your nomination letter, please include your name and contact information, the name and contact information for the nominee, along with your bio and the reason you feel your candidate meets the above criteria to receive this recognition.

The successful candidate will be announced at the McHenry County Youth Orchestras Pop's Concert at the Woodstock North High School on March 1, 2015 and presented with the official plaque.

The 2014 recipient of the MAV Music Leadership Award was Ed Hall. He is widely recognized for his passion for music and sharing that passion with his guitar students over many decades and bringing diverse musical acts into the area especially at the Woodstock Opera House. The communities who have been blessed by his passion, thank Hall for all his has done to teach and promote music.
