Input sought on Cook County transportation plan

Cook County officials have placed kiosks around the county to solicit public input on a long-range transportation plan.

The kiosks will use a survey program to gather input on various questions about transportation. This phase of the survey asks people to define what type of transportation is most important to them - from maintaining the status quo to "aggressive" investment in the overall system.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle says the survey began in February by asking people where they lived, where they worked and what their transit priorities are. Now she says the county is seeking comments on "go-forward strategies."

The kiosks will be located through September at Chicago State University, Blue Island Library, Humboldt Park, Welles Park, Chicago Public Library-Garfield Ridge and Streamwood Park District.
