Last Woman Standing: Knockout Women's Boxing Club celebrates third anniversary

WESTMONT, IL-At a time when no less than four area gyms have shuttered their doors in the past year, Knockout Women's Boxing Club is ringing in their third anniversary with an exploding membership base and Spirit Week themed celebrations the week of Sept. 22-27.

Knockout Women's Boxing Club is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill gym; when owner and head coach Jessica Storch set out to establish a boxing gym after completing her own competitive boxing career that culminated in two consecutive Chicago Golden Gloves Championships and an extensive background of fitness training and coaching, she set forth with specific ideals. Knockout Women's Boxing Club would be a women-only boxing gym that would offer its members a strongly emphasized environment of empowerment, support, encouragement, and safety. It's from this concept combined with intense, transformative boxing training that the Knockout community of members have flourished, growing the gym 60 percent year over year.

"We want women everywhere to stop the diet madness and punch these unrealistic beauty and health standards in the face," Storch says. "Being a Knockout isn't about being perfect or having the perfect body, it's about being the best YOU can be. Most of our clients come to us fighting something: their bodies, their fears, their insecurities, life challenges. Our job is to stand in their corner and coach them to win their fight. We make our Knockouts our number one priority and pride ourselves on making our club feel like home."

The week-long anniversary celebration will conclude with an official Knockout Anniversary Party on Friday, September 26th at 7 p.m. at Knockout Women's Boxing Club, 95 W. 61st Street in Westmont.
