Grayslake North 2, Grant 1: At Grant, the Knights overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit to win the tournament game and improve to 4-1, as senior Fernando Sanchez scored the winning goal off an assist from junior Julian Jimenez with about 15 minutes left.
Senior defender Lucas Buckels netted the equalizer with senior Fernando Sanchez earning the assist.
"We started the second half a little shaky, but the maturity and character among the group showed through," Grayslake North coach Adam DeCaluwe said. "The boys calmed themselves down and began to create some nice goal-scoring chances."
Grant's Manuel Garcia scored on an assist from Felipe Nolasco in the first half. Bulldogs keeper Nick Heidenthal was credited with 14 saves.
