Gurnee police say missing girl found with mom in Springfield

A missing 7-year-old Gurnee girl has been found safe and her mother is charged with two counts of child abduction for taking the girl downstate without permission.

Siomara Alvarado, 37, of Gurnee, remains held in Springfield where she was arrested after exiting a bus from Galesburg, authorities said. The warrant for her arrest carries a $150,000 bond.

Alvarado, also known as Siomara Gutierrez, was last seen in Gurnee with her 7-year-old daughter, Amayrani Brambila, on Sunday evening, according to police.

Amayrani was found in good health and reunited with her father in Springfield, according to Gurnee police. Alvarado is awaiting extradition to Lake County.
