Hoffman Estates to hold 9/11 anniversary memorial
The Hoffman Estates village board and the Celebrations Commission invite residents and guests to a memorial service for the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. This year's Ceremony of Remembrance will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at village hall, 1900 Hassell Road. Schaumburg Fire Lt. and 9/11 first responder John Schneidwind will return as the speaker of honor. He will share his firsthand experience assisting at ground zero in the aftermath of the tragedy.
