St. Charles hotel hosts McCarthy, Wahlberg celebration

The iconic Hotel Baker in downtown St. Charles drew a glitzy party Saturday night celebrating the weeekend wedding for former “The View” co-host Jenny McCarthy and actor Donnie Wahlberg.

“The place looks gorgeous,” said Shay Clarke, the general manager of McNally's Traditional Irish Pub across the street.

The stars of the reality show “Wahlburgers” trickled into the Main Street restaurant throughout the day, including Wahlberg's mom and cousin, Clarke said. Also stopping in: “Rizzoli & Isles” actor Brian Goodman.

“It's been pretty awesome,” Clarke said. “It's been fun.”

Media reports said McCarthy and Wahlberg were getting married in New York this weekend, but the couple were spotted in downtown St. Charles.

In August 2013, McCarthy hosted a charity fundraiser at the 1920s-era Hotel Baker.

Management did not return calls seeking comment.
