Kaneland interim superintendent hired Monday quits
The interim superintendent the Kaneland school board hired Monday is quitting.
School board President Cheryl Krauspe confirmed Wednesday that Ken Sorrick has submitted a letter of resignation.
She said, via email, that the board will meet Tuesday in closed session to accept the resignation and discuss how to proceed in naming a new interim superintendent.
Five people had applied for the job.
Sorrick was a retired superintendent of Palos Hills District 117, and a resident of Plainfield.
He was going to help the district look for a new superintendent to replace Jeff Schuler. Schuler leaves Kaneland Friday, to become superintendent of Wheaton Warrenville District 200.
Sorrick could not be reached for comment.
