Chicago Little Leaguers returning to city

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will welcome the Jackie Robinson West All Stars back home after a run that enthralled the city.

Emanuel's office released a statement saying the mayor will be at Midway International Airport Monday afternoon to welcome the team. On Saturday, it beat Las Vegas in the U.S. Final and fell to South Korea on Sunday in the championship game.

The team will be honored with a Wednesday homecoming parade.

The group is comprised of 11- and 12-year-old boys from Chicago's South Side. Its success has been an inspiration for many in a part of Chicago that has grappled with poverty and gang violence.

After watching Sunday's championship game, Emanuel praised the players for showing "heart" and he said Chicago "could not be prouder of them."
