Chelsea model home opens at Arlington Market

The Chelsea model home wowed visitors at the grand opening of Arlington Market, a new-home community with an urban flair in a prime Arlington Heights location.

The community by M/I Homes offers three, two-story floor plans with two to three bedrooms and 2½ baths, finished basement, detached two-car garage and front porch.

Plans feature distinctive city-style exteriors that are a perfect fit for this location, said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for M/I Homes.

"This part of town has a great urban feel with plenty of amenities within walking distance - shopping, dining, parks, library and the train station. The curb appeal of these homes complements that city flavor."

Situated at Dryden Place and Kensington Road, the Chelsea model is priced from $379,990 and features 2,290 square feet, two bedrooms and loft, 2½ baths and a finished lower level with bar area.

With interior design by Mary Cook & Associates, the home showcases a soft modern look and rustic accents that work well with the urban qualities of the residence.

The interior gets attention with a clean style that pairs with a bold color palette of indigo blue, emerald green and mustard yellow, while patterns and textures flow throughout.

The home features an open floor plan with some flexibility to adapt to homebuyers' lifestyles, and the model shows many upgrades including custom wood flooring.

A covered porch welcomes you into an oversized foyer that leads to the den with lots of windows and natural light to the left and to the living space straight ahead.

The kitchen features granite countertops, light perimeter cabinetry with crown molding, and stainless steel appliances. An oversized island offers a sink and plenty of space for a scrumptious buffet with a lot of seating and space for guests to gather.

The kitchen flows into the family room where comfortable seating beckons. A lot of windows give the space a cheerful vibe while a fireplace adds warmth. This is a nice cozy conversation area for guests or homeowners spending a quiet evening at home.

With a whisper of romance, the master suite on the upper level features a cathedral ceiling and king-size bed with fabric headboard and dark wood end tables. Green and white draperies dress the windows.

In the luxury private bath, the walk-in shower shows an interesting feature - a vestibule to set the water temperature before stepping into the spray. Two sinks ease the morning rush.

The loft is outfitted as a small family room furnished with a sofa and chair, fun pillows and a throw along with a refrigerator.

The color scheme also flows into a second bedroom that sparkles with white furnishings and a silver-edged mirror.

A full bath and convenient second-floor laundry room complete this level.

The lower level offers more entertainment space with a TV, seating and wet bar with wine cooler.

Two other floor plans are available at the community. The Ardmore is priced from $379,990 and features 2,405 square feet, two bedrooms plus loft and finished lower level. And The Burton, priced from $374,990, features 2,347 square feet, two bedrooms and finished lower level.

"With little new construction in Arlington Heights, Arlington Market offers a tremendous opportunity to purchase a new home in the center of everything buyers love about Arlington Heights," said Ron Martin, region president for M/I Homes of Chicago.
