Adaptive sports group hosts 5K:

Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association will host the 7th Annual 5k Twilight Run, Walk, Roll & Post-Race Party on Saturday, Sept. 6. The race will begin at the Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, at 5:15 p.m. The post-race party immediately following. The Twilight Run is sponsored by Northshore University Health System and is the largest CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association) certified 5K race in the Chicago area featuring disabled and nondisabled athletes competing side by side. Multiple divisions include age group awards for runners, teams, as well as for manual wheelchairs, racing chairs and hand cycles, ambulatory, amputee and the visually impaired.
