Sugar Grove man killed in single-vehicle crash

A 73-year-old Sugar Grove man was killed when the pickup truck he was driving in an unincorporated section of Kane County near Sugar Grove veered off the road and struck a utility pole Friday evening.

Authorities said the driver, Roger Lambert, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lambert was driving southbound on Densmore Road near Hankes Road in the Aurora West Forest Preserve when authorities said Lambert's vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck the pole at about 5:15 p.m. Friday.

Lt. Chris Collins, the public information officer for the Kane County sheriff's office, said it does not appear any other vehicles were involved and they are trying to determine if Lambert suffered a "medical event" prior to the crash.

Meanwhile, the crash remains under investigation.
