Chicago fire kills woman, injures 2 men

Chicago fire authorities say a woman has died in a fire at a vacant building and two men have been hospitalized.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports firefighters responded late Thursday to a second-story blaze in the Logan Square area. Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford says a woman was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the woman's death but didn't disclose her identity early Friday.

Langford says one man is in critical condition and the other man's condition has been stabilized. Their ages weren't immediately available.

Langford says the building has been vacant for more than six months. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
