Sky guard Vandersloot cleared to play against Mystics
Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot will be available for today's road game against the Washington Mystics. Tip-off is set for 10:30 a.m. CT on NBA TV.
Vandersloot has missed the last 16 games after suffering a Grade III sprain of the medial collateral ligament in her left knee in a road win over the New York Liberty on June 27.
Vandersloot, who was among the league leaders in assists (6 per game) at the time of her injury, made quick progress during her recovery. She is in Week 7 of what was originally billed as a 6- to 10-week rehab.
With Vandersloot now available, the Sky, with just three games left in the regular season, will be playing with its full roster for the first time all summer. At 14-17, the Sky is in third place in the Eastern Conference standings and hoping to qualify for the playoffs for the second straight season. The top four teams in each conference make the WNBA playoffs.
