Story time at St. Charles nature center

Surrounded by wildlife displays, Valerie Verscaj kept kids entertained Friday with her animated readings at the Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles.

The St. Charles youth services librarian kept the children's interest with songs, movement and reading during the monthly "Story Time at the Nature Center" program.

More than 30 parents and children filtered into the newly added Creek Bend Nature Center in the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve to take advantage of the lively program.

The series is for children 5 and younger and their caregivers.

The programs are free, but advance registration is required. To register, call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com. Visit kaneforest.com.
