Wisconsin invites companies to join trade trip

MADISON, Wis. - Gov. Scott Walker's economic development agency is inviting Wisconsin companies on an overseas trade trip later this year.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation plans to lead a trip to the Czech Republic, Poland and Turkey in early November.

Companies that join the agency on the trip will receive briefings on each country as well as WEDC-brokered one-on-one meetings with local partners the companies are seeking, including importers, distributors and retailers. The agency says companies involved in the manufacturing, medical equipment, aerospace, food and energy industries could find opportunities in the three countries.

The cost of the trip is $9,595 per person, although participants may be eligible for a grant that would cover the fee. Registration information is available on WEDC's website. Registration ends on Aug. 29.
