Advice on car shows:

The organizer of Wauconda's summertime cruise nights urged village officials on Monday not to allow alcoholic beverages to be consumed on the street during the public events. Drunken driving shouldn't be encouraged, Steven Howorka said, nor should rowdy behavior that could occur if alcohol is consumed on the street. Owners of classic cars might also shun the event if there are reports of drinks being spilled on cars, he said. The village's first cruise night on Main Street was held July 15, and more are planned. The open consumption of alcohol was not allowed at the July 15 event, officials said.
