Mount Prospect man pleads guilty to third DUI

A Mount Prospect man with two past DUI convictions pleaded guilty Monday to a third.

Lorenzo Gomez, 42, of the 600 block of West Dempster Street, was sentenced to three years in prison in exchange for his guilty plea.

Gomez received credit for 34 days in custody. He must complete at least 50 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

Police arrested Gomez about 4:30 a.m. July 1 after they observed him cross the yellow line and obstruct traffic while driving on Elmhurst Road.

Gomez, who has a DUI case pending in Skokie, has convictions for DUI from 1998 and 1999, prosecutors said.
