'Miss Carole' has kids dancing and jumping at Cook Memorial library in Libertyville

More than 80 children and adults danced, wiggled and jumped with Miss Carole and Macaroni Soup! Wednesday at the Cook Memorial Public Library in Libertyville.

"Miss Carole" Stephens, a nationally renowned music specialist, and her accompanist Clarence Goodman, engage children in a cross-curricular music program involving singing, dancing and rhythmic movement.

Jackson Butler, 3, of Libertyville claimed he was "not nervous, and enjoyed jumping the best," when called upon to participate with Stephens.

"We try to schedule events designed to show that the library is a place of discovery," said Becky Ferguson, the library's public relations coordinator. "A program like this helps promote the idea with youngsters that the library is a place they can go that's fun and engaging, not just about books."
