Hoffman Estates man charged with stalking

A 23-year-old Hoffman Estates man faces stalking charges after authorities say he followed his former girlfriend in his car from Schaumburg to a gas station in Schiller Park.

Lukasz Pawluczuk, of the 1200 block of Hassell Circle, was ordered held on $15,000 bond Monday, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney David Shin.

The woman said Pawluczuk followed her for 15 miles after she left work on Friday, Shin said. Police arrested Pawluczuk at 10:41 p.m. Friday at a gas station on the 4100 block of North Mannheim Road.

Cook County Judge Jill Cerone Marisie ordered Pawluczuk have no contact with the woman and that he surrender his firearm owner's identification card and any weapons in his possession.

Pawluczuk next appears in court on Aug. 21.
