Runoff, flooding presentation:

The League of Women Voters Lake County and Faith in Place will present "Stormwater From the Ground Up" from 5:15 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Waukegan Public Library, 128 N. County St. This program provides information for homeowners, business owners and community leaders about how to prevent the damage and pollution caused by stormwater runoff and

flooding. Spanish translation will be available. Stormwater runoff causes flooding and carries pesticides, chemicals, and other pollutants into lakes and rivers. A presentation also will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Highland Park Library to explain the reasons for flooding and offer projets that individuals or communities can undertake.
