Railroad work in Des Plaines to close part of Lee Street

A portion of Lee Street in Des Plaines will be closed for more than a week in August for railroad crossing repairs.

Starting Aug. 1, Lee between Oakwood and Walnut avenues will be closed to all through traffic. Repair work is expected to be complete by Saturday, Aug. 9.

City officials say detours will be posted and traffic will be routed by way of Northwest Highway to the north, River Road to the east, and Algonquin Road to the south.
